Lo, I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20)

When Christ said this to the apostles, they hadn’t yet received the indwelling Holy Spirit. Today, every saint has the Spirit of Christ IN them, so at least in the spiritual sense, He’s more with us now, than He was with the apostles when they ate their final breakfast with Him. Since the Day of Pentecost, Christ is IN every Born Again Christian.

It’s the presence of God that enables us to handle any trial. “You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness” (Romans 8:9-10).

If Christ is IN you, divine power will be developed, and every grace will be strengthened, and you’ll be able to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. But nominal Christians have only a form of godliness, and no sustainable power over sin. If this is you, seek God until He supernaturally regenerates your heart and indwells you with the Holy Spirit. You know a tree by its fruit…saving faith always bears biblical evidence of salvation.

Once God saves you, you’ll want to do what He wants, and you’ll have a clean conscience. “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”. “If our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God … because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (Romans 8:11, John 3:21-22).
